Soyuz Africa Connections (SAC) is a Ugandan Association of Alumni from Higher Education Institutions of the Russian Federation and former countries of Soviet Union (commonly referred to as Commonwealth of Independent Countries- CIS) with interests in languages, trade relations, socio-economic interactions, and investment and business opportunities in Uganda and counties of CIS. Association’s membership is drawn from over 2800 alumni, residing both in Uganda and in foreign countries, including non-Alumni who are well-wishers of the association.
Currently Soyuz Africa Connections offices are located in Kampala City, Uganda
Mission statement
SAC engages alumni and well -wishers association members in fostering lifelong relationships in the development of Uganda-Russia & CIS economic potential, promoting their bilateral national interests, and strengthening socio-economic cooperation that nurtures not only socio-economic opportunities but also contributes to Uganda students’ selection process to study in Russia and countries of former Soviet Union
Association’s objectives
The Association’s primary role is to unite members who studied and lived at different times in the countries of the former Soviet Union and in the Russian Federation. The overall association’s objectives include:
(a) To promote Uganda-Russia relationship in technical, economic, cultural fields and to provide a platform for members and Ugandan well-wishers to forge friendship, greater interactions and understanding through technical, social-economic activities
(b) To promote cooperation between the association and affiliate organizations from the Russian Federation and CIS
(c) To correlate development programmes and projects of Russia to those of Uganda and region, aimed at uplifting the standard of life within the communities
(d) To campaign, promote, and advocate for increased available opportunities in trade and flow of goods and services between Russia and Uganda and, entire East African region
